I began writing at the age of 8 when my mother suggested writing to me as a way of releasing my feelings, upon noticing that I was a highly sensitive child. At the age of 9, I began my entrepreneur journey as a short story writer. I sold my printed short stories at Child Protective Services in Brooklyn where my mother worked in the 80s. I consider writing to be my first yoga experience as it proved to not only be an amazing way to expand my imagination and reflect on life experiences; journaling and poetry writing became a tool for me to work through depression, perceived heart break, grief, seemingly failed relationships, illusions, trauma and deep sadness. Essentially, my mother was my first yoga experience by way of her loving me enough to not only nurture me through food and care prior to my pre-teens; she gave me a tool to explore and express my emotions in a healthy way. I am forever grateful to my mommy for sharing her love for writing and the gift of writing too.
44, All That I Didn’t Say, Book 1 is my first book, self-published by me, with the intention to begin releasing my story in a poetic memoir as an extension of my healing, inner child nourishment and the rebirth of my artistic creativity! May my story inspire you to write, honor your feelings and your inner child's needs while revisiting parts of your own story as you read some of my story and reflections in poetic form. May the journal prompts and blank space throughout the book inspire you to release what you need to and tap into the healing, art and freedom that is writing!
